- Scuba Diver Course
Scuba Diver is the NAUI entry level scuba certification course. It provides the fundamental knowledge and skills to scuba dive. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training.
- Advanced Scuba Diver Course
This course is a continuing education certification course for certified divers. It is an enjoyable program of continued supervised experience designed to introduce divers to a variety of diving activities and to be taught entirely in an open water setting. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training.

- Advanced Scuba Rescue Diver
This is a certification course for certified scuba divers who desire to assume greater rescue capabilities during diving activities. The training emphasizes accident supervision and management with practical applications in open water.
- Master Scuba Diver Course
The course is an continuing education certification course for divers who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. Emphasis is on student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water after a classroom discussion of subjects. This course is an excellent progression toward NAUI Leadership roles.
Professional Course (AI)
- Assistant Instructor Course (AI)
The NAUI Assistant Instructor rating is a NAUI Leadership level certification. The program is designed to introduce students to diving instruction basics. It also tests individuals in fundamental water skills needed to be capable assistants.Certification authorizes individuals to assist active-status NAUI Instructors in the conduct of dive training.
- Divemaster Course (DM)
The NAUI Divemaster rating is the highest NAUI leadership-level certification with the exception of Instructor. The program is designed to train experienced and knowledgeable divers to organize and conduct enjoyable open water dives for certified divers.
- Instructor Training Course (ITC)
The NAUI Instructor Training Course (ITC) is designed to train and qualify NAUI Instructor member applicants. During the course candidate instructors learn effective methods to teach skin and scuba diving in compliance with NAUI Diving Course Standards.
- Instructor Crossover Course (ICC)
The NAUI Instructor Crossover Course (ICC) is designed to train and qualify as NAUI instructor member applicants current (in good standing), non-NAUI recreational scuba instructors qualified by NAUI recognized organizations.
- Instructor Trainer Designation (IT)
The Instructor Trainer Designation is a formal NAUI leadership Designation- not a certification. The NAUI Instructor Trainer Designation (IT) provides recognition to NAUI Instructors who have completed a combination of training and evaluated experience specific to the preparing, training, evaluating and counseling of NAUI Instructor Candidates.
- Course Director Designation (CD)
The Course Director Designation is a formal NAUI leadership designation- not a certification. The NAUI Course Director Designation (CD) provides recognition to NAUI Instructors who have completed a combination of training and evaluated experience specific to the preparing, training, evaluating and counseling of NAUI Instructor Trainers as well as Instructor Candidates.
Technical Courses
- NITROX DIVER
This program provides recreational divers a safer breathing medium for enjoying dives in 12 msw to 39 msw depth range. The diver may elect to dive the mix on EANx tables or conservatively using their dive computers or air tables with an added diver safety margin. The IANTD Nitrox Diver certification is adaptable to being taught as a single program or by combining it with a variety of advanced or specialty diver courses.
- ADVANCED NITROX DIVER
This program is designed to extend the divers knowledge with O2 mixes of 22 to 40% and up to 50% for decompression. It further develops diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the Nitrox diving concept.
- TECHNICAL DIVER
This program has been designed to provide a more in depth knowledge of Nitrox and technical diving application.
- TECHNICAL DIVER SUPERVISOR
This program is designed to provide recognition of leadership qualifications of competent divers. A Nitrox Technical Diver Supervisor is a leadership or instructor in training rating. Nitrox Technical Diver Supervisors may supervise divers in open water and students in all standard courses (except Overhead Environment) Advanced Deep Air Diver, and Nitrox Technical Diver under the direction of a qualified IANTD instructor.
